Course Overview

Description: The majority of clients most Financial Planners engage with have strong credit but occasionally we encounter clients who do not. Credit scores have a broader impact than what we often recognize often affecting the pricing of auto & life insurance as well as job and rental applications to name a few. Ashley Murphy CFP® AIF®, Founder and Principal of Areté Wealth Strategists, discusses how financial planners can help clients manage, monitor and improve this vital part of a client's financial life.

Learning Objectives/Outcomes: After taking this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify where a client's credit score may be impacting their financial life
  2. Provide advice to clients on how their credit score is calculated and what they might do in the near term to improve their score
  3. Take practical steps to monitor their credit and do scenario planning to see what difference certain changes would make to their credit score.
